The first-aid requirement

Aurora College's Personal Support Worker program requires a Standard First Aid/CPR-C certificate, and first-aid certification is generally expected of the care aides who staff NWT long-term-care and home-care settings, so they can respond to residents in an emergency.

A recognized, up-to-date first-aid/CPR certificate is the way to meet this expectation; it is in addition to the worker's occupational training and must be renewed periodically.
