Terms of Use
Version 2026-07 · Effective July 1, 2026
These terms form the contract between you and Formation RCR et Secourisme Québec ("FRSQC", "we"), [email protected]. First Aid & CPR Northwest Territories (firstaidcprnorthwestterritory.ca) is a business name of FRSQC.
They apply to your use of the firstaidcprnorthwestterritory.ca website and our online courses. By checking the box provided when you purchase or access a course, you confirm that you have read and accept these terms and the Refund Policy. How we handle your personal information is described in the Privacy Policy.
1. Our courses
1.1. Our online courses teach CPR, AED use and first aid according to current scientific guidelines and, where indicated, the CSA Z1210-17 standard.
1.2. The outline of each course is published on its page.
1.3. FRSQC is not affiliated with the Red Cross, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the American Heart Association, St. John Ambulance or any other organization.
2. Medical disclaimer
2.1. The course does not replace medical advice or emergency services. In a real emergency, first call your local emergency number (911 in Canada and the United States, 112 in Europe) and follow the dispatcher's instructions.
2.2. Never practise the techniques taught (chest compressions, abdominal thrusts, tourniquet, etc.) on a person who does not need them: they can cause serious injury.
2.3. The content may describe injuries and difficult situations. If any content makes you uncomfortable, you may pause the course and resume it later.
3. Your account
3.1. You sign in with Google, Microsoft or a link sent by email. Your account is personal: do not share it, and do not let anyone take a course or answer assessments on your behalf.
3.2. The name on your certificate is the name in your profile. Check it before you finish the course. To correct it afterwards, write to [email protected].
4. Assessments and certificate
4.1. The certificate is issued when all lessons are completed and all assessments are passed with the minimum score indicated.
4.2. The certificate's validity period is shown on the course page and on the certificate (usually 3 years). We will send you reminders before it expires.
4.3. The certificate confirms that you passed the online course. It is your responsibility to check that it meets the requirements of your employer or of a regulatory body. If your employer requires a practical skills assessment, contact us to complete it by video conference.
4.4. Integrity. To protect the value of our certificates, we may verify that a certificate was earned by its holder, in particular by phone or email. If we find, or have serious reason to believe, that a course was taken by someone else or that there was cheating, we may ask you to retake the course. If you refuse, or if fraud is confirmed, we may cancel the certificate after notifying you in writing.
5. Prices, payment and promo codes
5.1. Prices are shown in CAD. Sales taxes for your place of residence are calculated and added at checkout, then shown on your invoice.
5.2. Payment is made securely by card through Stripe. You receive an invoice by email.
5.3. A promo code applies only to an individual purchase, once unless otherwise stated, before taxes. It cannot be combined with another offer, exchanged for cash or applied after purchase.
5.4. Organizations. An organization may buy seats for its employees (volume discount shown at checkout). The organization is responsible for assigning its seats. The organization's administrators can see the progress and certificates of the employees it enrolled.
6. Cancellation and refunds
Cancellation and refund terms are described in the Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.
7. Intellectual property
Course content (text, images, videos, assessments) belongs to FRSQC or its licensors. You may use it for your personal learning only. Copying, distributing or reselling it is prohibited.
8. Liability
8.1. We do our best to keep the content accurate and up to date and the site available. Service interruptions may still occur (maintenance, outages). Your saved progress is kept.
8.2. Nothing in these terms limits our liability to a consumer beyond what the law allows, in particular for bodily or moral injury, or for our own fault.
8.3. If you purchase on behalf of an organization, our total liability to that organization, for any cause, is limited to the amount paid for the order concerned, except in the case of gross or intentional fault.
9. Communications
9.1. We send you emails related to your account and courses: purchase confirmation, invoice, certificate, renewal reminders.
9.2. Promotional emails are sent only with your consent, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
10. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. Any change will be sent to you at least 30 days before it takes effect, by email or at your next sign-in, with the new version and its effective date. You may then refuse the change and end the contract at no cost, under the Refund Policy. A change does not apply to a course you have already completed.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. However, if you are a consumer, you keep all the protections granted by the law of your place of residence that cannot be waived by contract. Those protections prevail over any contrary clause in these terms.
12. Provisions by place of residence
- Quebec: the Consumer Protection Act applies. You may contact the Office de la protection du consommateur. In case of discrepancy between language versions, the French version prevails.
- Other Canadian provinces and territories: your province's consumer protection laws apply.
- United States: your state's consumer protection laws apply. Your certificate confirms completion of an online course; it does not replace a card that requires an in-person practical assessment (for example, some OSHA or employer requirements).
- United States, arbitration: any dispute between you and FRSQC will be resolved by individual, binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its rules for consumer disputes, rather than in court. You may, however, bring a claim in the small claims court of your county. You waive any right to take part in a class action or class arbitration. You may opt out of this clause by writing to [email protected] within 30 days of your first purchase.
- European Union, Switzerland and United Kingdom: you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the purchase. If you request immediate access to the course, this right ends once the course is fully completed; if you withdraw during the course, we refund the part not taken. You may also bring a claim before the courts of your country.
- Australia and New Zealand: our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under your country's consumer law (Australian Consumer Law, Consumer Guarantees Act).
- Other countries: the mandatory protections of your country apply, as set out in section 11.
- Language: these terms are available in several languages. Outside Quebec, in case of discrepancy, the English version prevails.
