Becoming a foster family in the Northwest Territories means offering a safe home to a child or youth who cannot live with their own family. As part of preparing to care, a current first-aid and CPR certificate is commonly expected so caregivers can respond to everyday emergencies.
De eis inzake eerste hulp
In the Northwest Territories, foster homes are approved under the Child and Family Services Act following a home assessment and background checks. A current first-aid and CPR certificate from a recognized organization is commonly required or arranged through caregiver training and support, though it is expected under agency practice rather than fixed by a single explicit statutory clause.
The certificate is confirmed by the territorial child and family services worker handling your approval. It is one requirement in addition to the home study and the assessment of your suitability to foster, and should be kept current.
